Gary S. Murray, an acclaimed entrepreneur who has successfully combined his love for technology with his passion for real estate development, still abides by the advice he got from grandparents who didn't have more than a fifth grade education and parents who never made it past the 11th grade.
"I'm a third generation entrepreneur," Murray says with pride. "Both my grandfathers were farmers. My father and uncle owned a construction company that built houses in D.C. and Virginia. They were all honest, hardworking people and they passed on their knowledge to the next generation with this understanding: "We'll teach you what we know. But you must go out to learn and teach somebody else, starting with your family, how to earn an honest living.”
Today, Murray, who co-founded and successfully sold two high profile technology firms, is teaching somebody else. He's sharing his business knowledge and expertise with his extended family - the growing number of business owners nationwide.

A PRICELESS LOVE GIFT FROM GOD
August 9, 1952–February 28, 2021
“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”” - The Bible
Only the Lord can provide such an excellent woman. This good woman is a priceless gift from God. I am eternally grateful to God for the life journey in Christ He chose for my ancestors, for me and my wife, our children, our children’s children, our family and prayerfully for our family yet unborn. I gratefully give honor in remembering my girlfriend wife Areather who awoke the mornings saying, “This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. Magnify the Lord with me and let us exhault His name together.”
Areather and I met as D.C. teenagers in July 1967. On her front stoop, we began envisioning our ‘one life journey’ towards heaven together. When Areather was a little girl, her ‘Daddy’ took her to dine out, to church, to prayer meetings, taught her life’s truths, “Every man, every woman, every boy and every girl must die. Heaven is our home. There is no Santa Claus.”
Our first date was attending church together. Church Bible Study and Worship Service became our forever weekly date; as it was in the life of our parents, our respective family for generations yet unknown. In my youth, painted on a wall in my family’s church was ‘GOD IS LOVE.’ Areather and I wed to be faithful, to love God, to love one another for life, on December 26, 1971. “Beloved, if God loves us so we must love one another.”
Love is competent, confidence, empathetic, encouraging, faithful, giving, honest, hopeful, forgiving, fulfilling, kind, long-suffering, patient, respectful, selfless, sincere, truthful, trustworthy, always present. As such, I dearly miss my forever love, my wife, my best friend Areather, the mother of my three children. I miss her physical presence, her touch, her gentleness, her tender-heartedness, her random thoughts, her curious creativity, her wise discernment, her ever present smile, her joyful laughter, her endless faithful love for me, our family and community. She blessed all she met with her joyful hospitality, her loving kindness, her gentle peace in the Lord. Areather and I learned to be content in all circumstances. We gratefully looked to God and praised Him. “Then Job answered the Lord and said: “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
In Christ, we are overcomers. God’s promises are true. His Word is all powerful truth. God never forsook us nor left us. Areather and I daily lived forgiven in forgiveness. Jesus says to us, “Learn of me for I am gentle and humble of heart. In me you will find rest, peace beyond all measure.” As a couple, we found peace in one another’s joy in the Lord. Our ‘one life journey’ is love and devotion to the Lord and each other with all our souls. Areather is a precious priceless love gift from God. Areather lives in the presence of our Savior Lord Jesus the Christ. Christ lives in us. Some day we shall see Him and enjoy His eternal presence with our loved ones who preceded us into heaven’s glorious eternal life. Heaven is our home. “And we shall behold Him, face-to-face, our Savior and Lord.
